FACULTY OF MEDICINE LJUBLJANA – SUMMER SCHOOL OF MEDICAL CARE – Day 3 (In-field work): Today we took a trip with prof. Erika Zelko to one of the Roma settlements in Trebnje. There we met with local doctor prof. dr. Marija Petek-Šter, a social worker and several nurses who work with the community. They presented the problems which the Roma people are facing, improvements that have been accomplished in the last few years, and their own achievements regarding work with local children (educating them about the importance of dental and general health, school, relationships, …). We also visited the Trebnje Community Health Center and finished this very interesting day with an excellent dinner at a local restaurant (photos by Anastasia and Teodora, report by Dr. Hana Bešić )
